Warren County, New Jersey, is experiencing an alarming increase in drug overdose deaths 343 overdose cases were reported between September 2017 and November 2019. Naloxone (a medication designed to reverse opioid overdose rapidly) was used 503 times within the same period.

Drug and alcohol abuse does not only affect you as an individual; your loved ones, especially children, suffer; In this guide, you will find different options that will help you choose treatment, rehabilitation, and a better life.

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Options in Warren County, New Jersey

The first step towards recovery if you are suffering from any form of addiction, be it substance addiction or alcoholism, is admitting that you have the problem and want to recover. Addiction is a chronic relapsing condition that will not go away without professional help. In case you or a loved one is looking for a treatment facility in Warren County, New Jersey, you need to consider the following factors;

  • The financial aspect, i.e., the cost of rehabilitation from beginning to recovery.

  • The environment; entails the safety and security of your loved one and whether it is appealing.

  • The availability of evidence-based therapies.

  • Medical staff-to-patient ratio so that you are not neglected or under-cared for if the balance is too high.

  • The availability of dual diagnosis and treatment.

Treatment involves many steps to ensure a long-lasting recovery. It is different for each individual, depending on how long you have been addicted to alcohol or the substance. What other disorders are you suffering from? E.g., if you have both alcoholism and depression, both will be addressed simultaneously but using different interventions.

Here are some treatment options you will find in Warren County, New Jersey;

  • Medical detox, you are given medication that gradually reduces alcohol or other drugs from your bloodstream. The health service providers at a detox treatment center will provide you with medication that helps manage withdrawal symptoms safely when you stop taking alcohol and other drugs.

  • Residential treatment; you are provided with 24- hour care by a well-trained medical staff who respond to your medical and psychological needs immediately at the facility. It is used when you suffer from a severe alcohol or substance addiction for a prolonged period. The services offered here include; Medically reinforced detoxification and withdrawal in case needed, Individual and group therapies, Family and couples counseling, and drug addiction aftercare.

  • Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP); When you or your loved one has completed residential treatment, you will move to the next level of treatment, PHP. Here, you only need to go to the rehab center of your choice for treatment sessions, typically 6-hour sessions for five days weekly. It provides an excellent way for you to transition after detox and helps you to adapt rapidly to your daily routines.

  • Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs); are treatment programs used to manage different types of addictions that need round-the-clock intensive detoxification but are relatively cheaper than inpatient programs. While living at home, you must visit the treatment facility as scheduled for the Intensive Outpatient Program.

  • Outpatient Rehabilitation; Just like in an outpatient treatment scenario, you do not need to check into a rehab facility. It is ideal if you have mild withdrawal and addiction symptoms. You will go to the rehab center for treatment sessions such as medical consultation, counseling, and individual and group therapy.

  • Drug Addiction Aftercare; This is your final stage of treatment and is very challenging because the rate of relapse (due to cravings) is very high. Aftercare is the preventive measure to help you sustain a healthy life free from substance abuse after treatment. The following aftercare services will come in handy to make your recovery bearable; counseling and therapy, family education and counseling, case management, relapse prevention therapy, outpatient recovery services, and sober living homes.

  • Dual Diagnosis Treatment Programs; Most people with Substance abuse disorders and alcoholism usually have a co-occurring mental health disorder. At a dual diagnosis center, you can get diagnosed for both conditions and treatment for both simultaneously, though addressed separately.

Cost of Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Warren County, New Jersey

Drug and alcohol treatment is costly and affected by different factors, e.g., the type and amount of medication you need; this is unique to your requirements, the length of your stay at the treatment facility, the geographical location of the facility, and other amenities (e.g., gym, sauna, leisure trips outside the facility) offered at the facility.

Generally, inpatient or residential programs will charge you more than outpatient programs due to the cost of maintenance and different amenities offered.
