Outpatient Care

Here, patients can keep up with their regular job, school, and family responsibilities while participating in an outpatient program (OP). While OPs are less restricted than inpatient services, they include therapy, drug education, counseling, and wellness-promoting services.

 

There are six tiers of outpatient treatment available in Union County, NJ:

Early Intervention

​

Services like case management (CM), care coordination, and referrals to appropriate facilities are included.

Traditional Outpatient Care

​

Clients are free to choose their appointment times for treatment, counseling, etc. However, they are going to continue living at home while they are receiving therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

​

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Day Treatment

​

A person in a partial hospitalization program spends several hours in a rehabilitation center getting care, but they are free to go home when the day is over. PHPs offer services that are similar to those of inpatient programs. The main difference is that PHPs are more flexible.

Outpatient Detox

​

Patients are provided with support and education on how to handle symptoms of withdrawal and cravings in the comfort of their own homes.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

​

Medication-assisted therapy for drug and alcohol addiction aims to restore chemical equilibrium in the brain and reduce the likelihood of relapse. The program includes counseling and treatment.

Post Recovery

​

Treatment doesn't end when someone checks out of a hospital or a halfway house. Post-rehab care may include regular check-ins, sober living arrangements, and peer support groups.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are 12-step peer recovery programs that provide ongoing counseling and support.
